Fire Cider Tonic is an age-old remedy that is popular in the herbal community, especially popular during flu season. Easy to make this fire cider is full of health benefits and one of the most effective tonic that stimulate digestion, reduce inflammatory and support immune system.
As well kids friendly to! I’ve been doing it from years and my kids love it.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups unpasteurized apple cider vinegar
- 1 cup chopped fresh turmeric.
- 1 cup chopped fresh ginger.
- 2 bulbs chopped garlic.
- 2 cups chopped onion.
- 1 bunch fresh thyme
- 1/2 cup sea buckthorn
- 1/2 cup rose-hip.
- 2 limes chopped, or lemons, or 2 mandarins.
- 2 whole fresh chiltepin pepper or you can use any hot pepper you find, that’s what I found at the farm this year.
- 2,3 green or red chilies
Method:
- Gather all the ingredients. Fill a clean jar with the prepared ingredients, l and pour apple cider vinegar into the jar to fully submerge the ingredients.
- Seal the jar and let it sit at room temperature but away from the sun for anywhere from 3-4 weeks. After this time strain the vinegar through a strainer into a bowl.
- Transfer the final product to a glass bottle or jar for storage. You can store to room temperature for 1 year.
Take a teaspoon to a tablespoonful of cider tonic daily as a preventative during cold season or add it to a cup of hot water or green juice. You could also mix with lemonade or orange juice.
